Marriage and Birth
I heard the news of their engagement
No two people have I met who meld so well
It was only a matter of time.
They interest, caress and complete
One another. They engulf each other’s
Woes and exchange sadness
For
truth and love. No longer will
Grandmothers wait in hope.
Now is the time and I couldn’t
Be more pleased
I saw the awe inspiring photograph
Of a child so small and perfect
Made only from years of understanding,
Soul mated-ness and support. Two
People creating life from a life they
Wanted. A gift from the creator
Who made sea monsters and
Secret codes. From a girl
Whose humour, laughter and
Kindness knows no bounds and a boy
Whose patience and speech and transcended
Seder tables and synagogues making everyone
Feel important and involved. A blessing for
Those who pursue a blessed life and two
People who will be able to imbue
Values, intelligence and compassion
And a tiny person made in their
Image. Now is the time and I couldn’t
Be more pleased.
I should send flowers. But from a far I
Send wishes of excitement
And joy and thanks that facebook
