Poem 136 -1 empty suitcase 2 full bags

1 empty suitcase
2 full bags

Its raining, what exceptional
Pathetic fallacy as I ladled
The remnant in to a bag
And deposit it carefully
Then seem to play knock
Down ginger

This is very sad, very sad
Indeed, very sad this is indeed,
Indeed this is sad very.

So sad it is very indeed that
We feel the emptiness
In my wardrobe and my lack
For sleep attire.

1 empty suitcase to represent

my space, 2 full very sad bags.

Poem 135-Esquiva de Baixa

Esquiva de Baixa
(low escape)
I have escaped my world
Through a series of doors
Teleporting my un-co-ordinated
Self to a den of movement.

I surrender my evenings ( twice
a week) to the persuit of balance,
salt and question and response.

No-one, most particularly myself,
Would expect to find me here
Jogging bottoms on and French kicks
Removed from can cans.

Each week attend less able
To claim I am a novice each
Circle more inviting.

You, the sport, the people, have
Welcomed me in a hail of
Leg swishes and berimbaus .

And I am grateful for this
Honour clad in a t-shirt
I made for myself and my belt
In the cupboard at home

These days are most
Exhausting and empowering that
I hold.
I escape my life and breathe
As the level gets

Higher.

Poem 134- Marriage and Birth

Marriage and Birth

I heard the news of their engagement
No two people have I met who meld so well
It was only a matter of time.
They interest, caress and complete
One another. They engulf each other’s
Woes and exchange sadness
For truth and love. No longer will
Grandmothers wait in hope.
Now is the time and I couldn’t
Be more pleased

I saw the awe inspiring photograph
Of a child so small and perfect
Made only from years of understanding,
Soul mated-ness and support. Two
People creating life from a life they
Wanted. A gift from the creator
Who made sea monsters and
Secret codes. From a girl
Whose humour, laughter and
Kindness knows no bounds and a boy
Whose patience and speech and transcended
Seder tables and synagogues making everyone
Feel important and involved.  A blessing for
Those who pursue a blessed life and two
People who will be able to imbue
Values, intelligence and compassion
And a tiny person made in their
Image. Now is the time and I couldn’t
Be more pleased.

I should send flowers. But from a far I
Send wishes of excitement
And joy and thanks that facebook
Can include me partially in

Two pieces of exceptional news.

Poem 133- The Long Rolling Summer

The Long Rolling Summer

I don’t remember the summer last
Year feeling this long.

I am surprised, time consistently tries
To trick me into believing its
Shortness and now this.

What am I to expound from this
Constant misdirection when all
Is completed and nothing else
Begins.

The summer of course will end,
Nobody thinks it wont, nobody
Would be stupid enough to concede
To its manner of perpetual
Continuance. But how do we
Continue to waste what is only
Ours and watch as the days
Roll in to weeks.

What day is it?

Poem 132- Dreams

Dreams

I had a dream that you
Returned. You came to my
House. My mother called it
A “ wish fulfilment dream”,
We didn’t speak. It was
The most silent overwhelming
Encounter I have ever known.

Immediately you settled
In to routine, squashed in the
Car and headed out for
Dinner with us.

No words exchanged I felt
You sap the energy gained our
Reunion.

I felt like all I was meant to
Feel was missing – no elation
No relief.

I felt wholly unfulfilled. Even
My subconscious knows the truth.
