Poem 100- Listen to your own advice ( a rhyming poem)

Listen to your own advice

I gave myself advice through prose
I forgot to listen, too busy I suppose
Helpful hints so as not to invest too much
Sadly not in a bank or an ISA as such
Hoping to pay long term dividends leaving me lacking lustre
Hanging on to your Internet platitudes inferring all compliments I can muster
I told myself clearly, but no luck, I’ve not listened yet
Remember, entrench- no real love, no Skype- just Internet

Poem 99- Funny women

Funny women

“Yeah, it’s a plus for sure
But it’s not on the list of things
I feel I need.”

“We’re not like
You, it’s mainly our banter, yours
Is neither here nor there.”

I challenge you to laugh this
Hard and walk away, ride
Away … oops, challenge accepted

Poem 98- Midnight paralysis

Midnight paralysis

Too many moments wordless
Left only in memories of your
Skin
Hurt by the night you looked through me
And the dirt I cleaned from your floor
Engage me, enrol me in your midnight university
Tell me of intimacy I thought only I felt and left
And your secret dreams of continuation
Lost and hidden behind smiley brunettes
Kiss me deeper in memory
Wordless and antibacterial

Poem 97- For the Love of You ( a poem inspired by The Fault in Our Stars)

For the love of you

So it’s got a sell by date, so what?
I love you and that’s all I’ll say on that particular topic
If you can love me broken and calendar-ly
Restricted, I will aim to love you with my
Full heart as long as it beats and after
I fear oblivion less when you sit next to
Me
Originally scared you would be my shrapnel
Less afeard now I am yours
I climb the ladder requesting only air
But find only love
Your lips now broken
Your limbs less missing than the beat of your heart in mine
After you left
Okay …

Poem 96- The greatest fear, the smallest destiny ( a poem inspired by The Fault in Our Stars)

The greatest fear, the smallest destiny

What’s your greatest fear?
What genetic predisposition for pain should
You sit and wait for?
Do you test your body too much… too little?
Will you achieve the plan you plan?
Will your name be enshrined in the book
Of life or the books of history at your local
Library?
Take a deep breath
Kiss your fragility
Believe in hope for change
And taste the tears held inside
Each day
Each life
Eulogize your self and your friends
And prove your love for yourself and
Them in their absence
